CRN released its list of Top 100 Executives for 2023, honoring vendor and solution provider standouts who are leading the way in IT this year. The prestigious list honors executives excelling in four key categories: disrupters, innovators, channel sales, and most influential.

Hitachi Vantara’s superstar CEO Gajen Kandiah earned his spot in the Disrupters category, a group defined by CRN as executives who’ve proven themselves to be “game-changers in red-hot markets,” ranging from artificial intelligence and network security to cloud software and data center infrastructure and more.

While the pandemic has created surging demand for technologies to enable distributed working and learning, the CRN list of the Top 25 Technology Disrupters highlights executives who have answered the call, meeting the rapidly evolving needs of customers while creating new opportunities for channel partners.

Building Value with Data Management

CRN notes that as the global economy tries to navigate a post-pandemic world and supply shortages continue to wreak havoc on the industry, technology disrupters such as Kandiah have stepped up.

Kandiah garnered his position on the Disrupters list by maintaining a razor-sharp focus on building value for Hitachi Vantara’s broad range of customers and investing in their future--even when times are tough. Under his leadership and direction, Hitachi Vantara has continued to push out a steady stream of products in several important areas, including data management and hybrid cloud managed services.

Applying Generative AI

Kandiah is also focused on how to harness another disruptive technology: AI. In a recent blog, Kandiah described the impact of the game-changing technology at Hitachi Vantara.  “We’ve been investing heavily in research and development in AI for decades, driving the technology across both internal processes and product development,” he says.

Hitachi Ltd. recently announced the formation of the Generative AI Center, a new group dedicated to promoting the safe and effective use of the technology.

Kandiah also adds in the blog that as data volumes around the world are continuing to explode, Hitachi Vantara is ready to help enterprises channel this tsunami of data and prep it for their analytic and AI applications. The company has developed new data reliability services that provide high-quality data for more consistent, accurate outcomes.
