CBTS found Hitachi Vantara back in 2010. Utility pricing was not a common request at the time, but Hitachi Vantara offered CBTS a true utility-based program.
Today, CBTS uses Hitachi EverFlex to source around 20 petabytes of storage on a utility-pricing basis. This includes Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform, network attached storage, and Hitachi Content Platform for Cloud Scale.
The Hitachi EverFlex XaaS portfolio gives CBTS the ability to provide infrastructure in a variety of forms – from highly secure private cloud environments to shared public cloud. It can segregate domains for customers, which means matching clients to hardware on a one-to-one, one-to-many or many-to-one basis. EverFlex also supports CBTS’s unified communications, backup-as-a-service and disaster-recovery-as-a-service offerings.
“Our customers include organizations in the medical, pharmaceutical, government and education sectors, where security is paramount,” Ehrman says. “With Hitachi EverFlex, we can accommodate even the highest security requirements to adhere to HIPAA and FDA regulations without massively increasing prices.”
