The GigaOm report evaluated 12 vendors and rated them on their capabilities to address complex challenges of managing unstructured data in large-scale environments. The report highlighted the exceptional performance of Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) across a wide range of metrics, and HCP stood out with exceptional metrics for architecture, scalability, flexibility, performance and efficiency, and ecosystem. 

Growing Challenges for Unstructured Data Management

Data-driven decision-making is critical, and unstructured data like emails, documents, images, videos, and social media posts, can contain the insights that are needed to improve customer service, support new applications and drive business efficiencies. IoT devices, sensors and chatbots create massive volumes of data to unlock and analyze. 

Helping businesses better manage their unstructured data can not only help them innovative, but it can help them reduce costs. The GigaOm report also notes that while storage for structured data remains a significant expenditure in any IT budget, unstructured data now accounts for 80-90% of the total capacity—and is growing more quickly than any other types of storage.
