Hitachi Vantara and Cisco have a unique track record of partnering together for innovation. Cisco and Hitachi Vantara bring together compute, network, and storage products to deliver analytics, more automation, simpler operations and faster diagnostics.

This partnership was further aligned at Cisco Live! in Las Vegas in June, which is the event of the year for Cisco enthusiasts. More than 20,000 people gathered in person and close to one million more digitally streamed the event to learn, network, and discover the latest innovations from Cisco and its partners.

At this year’s event, there was more than just technology on the agenda. A common thread in the sessions focused on the pressing need to address the environmental and operational challenges that come with digital transformation. Cisco showcased sustainability and AI solutions, core elements of Cisco’s technology strategy. Cisco also emphasized how its portfolio and strong partner ecosystem will help customers and partners capture growth opportunities ahead.

This focus is aligned with the massive technological shifts happening with cloud, AI, security, and storage and the enormous growth of applications and hybrid work. As data volumes explode due to advances in AI, IoT, social media, and more, the demand for IT infrastructure also increases.

This puts a strain on the power consumption and carbon emissions of data centers, which account for 4 percent of global greenhouse gases. At the same time, enterprises are looking for ways to optimize their IT resources and focus on their core competencies, rather than managing complex and costly hybrid cloud environments.

Partners for Sustainability

That’s why Hitachi Vantara and Cisco teamed up to offer solutions that can help organizations achieve both business and sustainability goals. Together, the partnership can help companies reduce energy usage and their carbon footprint as well as outsource hybrid cloud management.

At Cisco Live!, Hitachi Vantara and Cisco discussed how they are equally committed to fighting climate change and supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy. Both companies have set ambitious targets to reduce their own greenhouse gas emissions and help their customers do the same.

One of the ways that Hitachi Vantara and Cisco can do this is by providing energy-efficient IT infrastructure that can help customers do more with less. The joint solutions, based on Hitachi Vantara storage and Cisco compute, networking, and software, are designed to deliver high performance and scalability, while minimizing power consumption and carbon emissions. By choosing solutions from this partnership, customers can not only improve IT operations, but also contribute to a greener planet.

Hitachi Vantara Global Services: A Managed Services Provider for Cisco Customers

Another benefit from the Hitachi and Cisco partnership is the ability to offer managed services for hybrid cloud based on Cisco technology. Hitachi Vantara Global Services has a proven record of providing managed services for some of the largest organizations in the world. Hitachi Vantara can take care of the hybrid cloud infrastructure from deployment to maintenance, which frees up a customer’s IT staff to focus on other strategic initiatives.

"Hitachi Vantara and Cisco have been trusted partners for more than two decades, and these agreements are important additions to the innovative relationship these global technology leaders have built," says Kimberly King, senior vice president of strategic partners and alliances at Hitachi Vantara, in a recent interview. "Successful partners adjust to meet customers' needs, both for today and for the future, and these developments do just that by offering the data-driven solutions and services they need the most."

Hitachi Vantara at Cisco Live! announced that it is extending managed services capabilities to Cisco customers. Customers can benefit from Hitachi Vantara’s outcomes-based model, where it aligns services with business objectives and delivers measurable results. Cisco customers can also leverage Hitachi’s expertise in hybrid cloud management, data protection, security, compliance, and more.
