How Hitachi EverFlex with Cisco Powered Hybrid Cloud Enables AI

Hitachi EverFlex with Cisco Powered Hybrid Cloud, part of the Hitachi Cisco Hybrid Cloud (HC2) Partnership, can optimize your customers’ hybrid cloud environments, reduce costs, and simplify operations through automation, orchestration, and flexible consumption models.

How Hitachi EverFlex with Cisco Powered Hybrid Cloud Enables AI

As organizations move to the hybrid cloud, 80% are looking for a cloud-like offering that delivers ease of use, and another 73% want to consume such a hybrid service in a pay-as-you-go format.

Managed service providers (MSPs), global systems integrators (GSIs), and resellers can take advantage of this ongoing hybrid cloud trend by offering Hitachi EverFlex with the Cisco Powered Hybrid Cloud. The service offers Cisco network infrastructure and compute technology integrated with Hitachi’s block, file, and object storage.

What is EverFlex with Cisco Powered Hybrid Cloud?

EverFlex with Cisco includes Nexus and Cisco MDS switches with Cisco Compute. The Cisco networking products offer deep visibility, tighter security, and faster application performance with built-in Cisco silicon. The networking gear offers efficient power and cooling and real-time energy usage insights that help network managers control sustainability costs more effectively.

Hitachi EverFlex is built on the Hitachi Vantara VSP One data platform, which offers cloud-hosted, on-premises and colocation storage with consumption-based pricing. Partners can help their customers use and access storage in ways that work best for their businesses and scale up and down as the organization’s needs change and grow.

“Built on proven Cisco and Hitachi technology, the HC2 partnership helps infrastructure providers work with their customers to optimize their hybrid cloud environments, reduce costs, and simplify operations through automation, orchestration, and flexible consumption models,” said Justin Schnauder, director, XaaS and Emerging Solutions at Hitachi Vantara. “Whether an organization is looking to modernize its infrastructure or transition to a pay-per-use model, HC2 offers the innovation and efficiency organizations need to unlock the future of the hybrid cloud.”

Hitachi Vantara's Schnauder says that EverFlex with Cisco offers the following benefits:

  • 43% server reductions, which leads to 30% cost avoidance in software licenses because there are many fewer VMware hypervisors to install and manage.
  • 32% reduced costs per gigabyte of data because of the efficiencies built into Hitachi VSP One, as well as a 40% reduction in overall storage capacity required.
  • 50% fewer network switches are required, which leads to a 36% reduction in operational labor because there’s much less hardware and real estate to manage.

Hyperautomation: The AI Enabler

HC2 leverages Everflex Control which is a heterogeneous hyperautomation infrastructure operations environment – which goes beyond traditional automation by combining technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), process automation, and advanced analytics to automate and optimize processes end-to-end. By automating repetitive tasks, reducing manual errors, and enhancing decision-making capabilities, Schnauder said hyperautomation helps organizations operate more efficiently, innovate faster and deliver superior customer experiences.

Schnauder adds that the big data goals of enterprises can’t be accomplished in an AI environment without hyperautomation.

“In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, businesses constantly seek innovative solutions to streamline operations, boost efficiency and drive growth,” said Schnauder. “Hyperautomation has emerged as a transformative force, allowing organizations to automate complex processes across their IT infrastructure and beyond. As businesses increasingly embrace hybrid cloud environments to leverage the benefits of both on-premises and cloud-based solutions, the intersection of hyperautomation and hybrid cloud has proven to be a game-changer.”
