With the growth in cloud services, remote work, and IoT devices, businesses are increasingly challenged to not only collect and store data in a secure environment, but also to manage that data and extract insights hidden within.

It’s a formidable task, especially given the vast amount of data companies collect. A recent survey found that by 2025 large organizations will be storing more than 65 PB, and their data storage infrastructure will need to support nearly twice its current load. An astounding 75 percent of the leaders surveyed are not confident that their existing data storage solutions will scale to support that growth.

Intensifying those concerns are regulatory pressures surrounding data protection, sustainability, and governance. Simply adding more racks to the data center is untenable due to the related energy costs and space limitations.

The more promising solution is a flexible, scalable storage system that enables companies to see and analyze their unstructured data, allowing them to extract the insights needed. But even that can be difficult as data often is siloed across departments, vendors, and cloud environments.

Data Storage Optimization Improves Operations

Hitachi Vantara partnered with Data Dynamics to provide organizations with a data storage and management solution that supports growth, automates analysis, mitigates security risks, and maintains compliance across the enterprise. Hitachi Vantara’s comprehensive portfolio of storage solutions provides the flexibility and scalability needed for effective data management, and Data Dynamics Unified Unstructured Data Management Software mines and analyzes data to improve operational management processes.

Data Dynamics’ software combines automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain technologies to dig deep into unstructured data. It organizes and structures data, detecting patterns and insights to inform business decisions, and it transitions data into a stored state for better management, optimization, and security. A metadata analysis provides a risk assessment of sensitive business data and ensures compliance and security.

The combined power of Hitachi Vantara’s suite of storage solutions with Data Dynamics Unified Unstructured Data Management Software allows companies to gain control of their data. It integrates Hitachi’s data discovery, remediation, and management capabilities with diagnostic analytics to give organizations a solid understanding of their data. It can even find and optimize old or unused data, known as “dark” data. This unleveraged data can be nearly half the data a large organization stores, which is expensive and cumbersome to manage.

By leveraging Hitachi Vantara and Data Dynamics data storage and management, solution providers can help businesses unlock value in their data, not only today, but as they gear up for an unprecedented increase in data collection.
